Introduction and Bio

Hello readers...

May I introduce myself, I am Author Laurie Sorensen, Author of Ravenwood: Night's Salvation, a historical romance set in 1743 England. Night's Salvation is the first in a series of books to come, involving the wonderful fictional Ravenwood family. Book one deals with Night Ravenwood, and his struggles of where he fits into this world. Book two will deal with Night's twin, Storm Ravenwood. She is a spirited young woman, coming into her own, having fallen head over heels in love with her brother's best friend. Book three handles a sticky situation, and delves into the Battle of Culloden and how it touches the ravenwood family, indirectly. Book four is the story of a minor character from Night's Salvation, yet powerfully important to the storyline. Book five will be sort of a prequel to the entire series, as I have felt slightly cheated by not writing a story for Night and Storm's older brother (in book one he was already dead).

I am seriously toying with the idea of putting into print a companion recipe book as well. This recipe book will have things in it that would have been prepared during the Ravenwoods life times. that would be the 17oo's. this would include herbal medicinal remedies, as well as food recipes they would have made during that time. I realize that it would be more of a novelty cookbook, and not many people would actually buy it, but I think it would be a nice finish to the Ravenwood Series, don't you?

I am a 37 year old housewife and mother, who thought that I might be able to pull off the impossible idea of becoming a published author. Little did I know over a year ago that I would indeed make that impossible dream come true. Light Sword Publishing offered me a contract and I have been on cloud 9 ever since. I was born in Jamestown NY, raised all over the world, as my father was in the Air Force. I now live in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. I am the mother of five children, two natural and three belonging to my wonderful husband Danny from two other marriages. Children are a beautiful gift from God, and I adore them all, even those that don't naturally belong to me. I am currently in college, attending classes online, majoring in English and History. This is a two ended goal, as I hope to make good use of both majors for my writing, and then I hope to be able to teach in a High School classroom setting when I have completely my Masters. We have many pets around the house, and outside, some (many) that belong to me and my immediate family, while others belong to my in-laws (they live next door). I am an active member in my oldest natural daughter's FFA organization, and I am a soccer mom to my other natural daughter. Life is good.
